Wellness/Health Exams

Our main goal is to keep your pets happy and healthy

One of the ways we can promote pet wellness is with regular health exams. In most cases, we should see your pets once a year, but for older pets or animals with chronic health concerns, we may recommend checkups more frequently.

Wellness Services we Offer

Comprehensive Physical Examination

From nose to tail, we want to make sure that every part of your pet is at optimal health. We aim to identify areas that can be improved and make a plan to address them.

Nutrition

We want to help you choose the best food for your pet to keep them in tip top form. Diet can be instrumental in treating weight problems, arthritis, dental disease, kidney disease, and allergies.

Vaccinations

We offer both essential and optional vaccines for your animal, along with counselling to determine which are the best options for your cat or dog and how frequently they need to be vaccinated. We also offer vaccine titre testing for animals who can’t be vaccinated.

Microchipping

Everybody loves happy reunions! Microchips are an effective way of finding your cat or dog after you’ve become separated. They are also compatible with Sureflap Cat Feeders.

Screening Testing

Depending on your pet’s needs, we may recommend screening blood tests, fecal tests, or urine tests to rule out health issues your pet is specifically at risk for.

Counselling

  • Behaviour Counselling – We want your kitten or puppy to start off on the right foot. We’ll help troubleshoot issues like potty training, crate training, and obedience. We also offer referrals for patients with more complex behaviour concerns.
  • Life stage counselling – Caring for a senior pet is different than caring for a kitten or puppy. We want to provide you with the best veterinary information to keep your pets happy and healthy, no matter their age.
  • Parasite prevention and counselling – Different pets will have a different level of risk with both internal and external parasites. We can discuss your animal’s risk for parasites like roundworms, giardia, ticks, or tapeworms.
